Join us at our monthly meetings with guest speakers, panel presentations, and a light brunch. We generally meet on the last Monday of the month from September to April. The public is welcome!
You see us around town! We're the ones who fill the window boxes at Town Hall and the Still River Post Office, provide flowers for the library, walk the Harvard trails, and much more. Some of our community activities include:
Garden Therapy at Apple Valley Nursing Center
At our plant sale in May, we sell hundreds of Harvard-hardy perennials from our own gardens, as well as top-notch annuals, vegetables, and herbs.
In June, we celebrate the growing season with a tour of several beautiful Harvard gardens, followed by our annual luncheon meeting.
Depending on members' interests, we may hold special workshops, arrange a group trip, or visit a nursery. On a weekly trail walk, you might find a surprise in the grass. Garden club members plant seasonal flowers in window boxes on town buildings.
The Garden Club funds an annual Educational Grant to promote an interest in horticulture and environmental education. Individuals or organizations located in Harvard, Massachusetts are eligible to apply for funding for related activities or studies of significant benefit to the applicant, the organization, or the greater community. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. For more information and an application form, please email gch@harvardgardenclub.org.
One of our recent projects was to design and install a new entry garden to greet visitors to Fruitlands Museum. Jesse Panek of the Garden Club designed the garden and Club members installed it in collaboration with Fruitlands to celebrate the museum's centennial year.
